Sliding Barn Door Hitting Trim

I already revealed my finished sliding door trim on my instagram last weekend but i m sharing all the details below for those of you that want to add or update any door or window trim in your own home.

Purchase a door that s as tall as the opening height or opening plus trim and 2 inches wider than the door frame to cover the entire opening. It also helps make sure the back of the brackets attached to the top of the door won t ever. The caster helps push out the bottom of the door juuuust enough so that it won t bang against the wall behind it. We ve lived in our home for 2 years this august and i ve known all along that adding trim to the sliding door was something i wanted to do.
